Boundless, daring, and colourful – this is the work of Daniel Buren (1938). Since the 1960s, he has used his iconic stripe pattern of white and coloured vertical stripes, always 8.7 cm wide, to break the rules of the art world. He calls the stripes an outil visuel (visual tool) and employs them not only in museums but also in unexpected locations. At Voorlinden, he will establish a dialogue with the architecture and nature in his unmistakable yet surprising manner.
